Standby power—The traditional role of a

healthcare power system is to serve in a standby capacity — seamlessly accepting block loads when required and selectively coordinating the emergency response of essential facility systems. With power systems that feature fastest-to-bus diesel generators, Cummins provides critical power restoration when healthcare facilities need it most.

Prime Power—In regions where reliable utility

power is unavailable, facility managers may opt for a prime power system that reduces dependency on utility power and enables extended run times. Cummins provides a full range of fuel-efficient diesel and natural gas systems to address these unique needs.

  Cogeneration—Combined heat and power

(CHP) systems allow operators to simultaneously generate electricity and capture reusable waste heat to improve efficiencies and reduce operating costs. Waste heat from the engine exhaust
flow and cooling circuits is extracted by a heat recovery system and used to produce steam or hot water for heating. This method of operation helps improve facility efficiency and reduce dependence on the grid.

rigeneration—With trigeneration, absorption

chillers are linked to the cogeneration process. These chillers use thermal energy streams generated by the heat recovery system to produce chilled water, which is then used for air conditioning and/or refrigeration. This maximizes energy efficiency and reduces electricity costs.
